Deceptively painful knobs protrude from a local tree species.

What kind of tropical island doesn't have coconut trees fully lining its periphery? This one, apparently. As a result, I'm forced to make due with a strange local species of tree in lieu of the coconut tree cliche I promised yesterday. I wish I knew where these trees are normally found in order to share that knowledge with you. The sensation of accidentally grabbing a handful of its sharp knobs is a uniquely excruciating pain that should be experienced by all.

This is a photo from the same beach as yesterday's photo.. I previously mentioned that the range of activities on this island is limited to chatting and eating. Allow me to include one supplemental activity I neglected to include: being shirtless for 90% of the day. Here, these activities are perfectly demonstrated by our subject; the hair is a comic tragedy of his own making . When the temperature is over 90ºF (33ºC) every day, it's a blessing that our less morally stringent Continental friends don't remove more than their shirts.
