A women's beach volleyball player returns a high-speed spiked ball.
By the time you read this, I'll be halfway through a 10-day vacation to Paris. In order to avoid doing any website work during my mini-vacation, I've scheduled 11 day's worth of posts to be released daily. I simply wanted the time in Paris to take photos, stroll around lazily with my girlfriend, Lady Travelguy, and enjoy a city I haven't seen since 1998!
A jump serve from one incredibly athletic women's beach volleyball player.
Despite the subject being slightly unfocused, I still wanted to publish the photo because I like the timing as well as the spray of Jet d'eau in the background. Capturing split-second sports photos is often difficult when using the focus tracking function of a dSLR. As you can see, I need a bit more practice knowing where to place the subject within my frame in order to track them with better success.
