User-controlled panorama of beautiful Phranang beach in Railay.
Of the four available beaches in the area, Lady Travelguy and myself (Travelguy) are spending the majority of our time on this beautiful beach. The other beaches, Railay East and West, and Ton Sai are nice and all but Phranang offers a large stretch of sandy-bottom ocean uninterrupted by sharp coral. A pet baby monkey named Harry Potter hangs out on this beach which sealed the deal, as far as I was concerned, as to where I would spend most of my days.

Staying in Phranang? Baller! I disagree with you tho. I don't think you can compare Tonsai and Railay East with Railay West and Phranang. Railay West has to be one of the prettiest beaches I've seen and Phranang one of the most enjoyable (if you ignore the droves of Japanese and Chinese tourists raiding the beach around noon time). Then again, they were dredging Tonsai when I was there and the beach on East was practically non-existent. Overall, great place for a getaway.
Neigh, neigh. You overestimate my financial resources and tightwaditude. We stayed in a hovel on Railay East and during the daytime, we set up camp near the phalluses on Phranang. Phranang was the only beach with large stretches of sandy bottom (versus coral and rocks) so that's why we stayed there... that and the monkey! West Railay had far too many rocks where we all cut our feet on though it was beautiful indeed.
Tightwaditude. I'm gonna steal that word.
