A pair of Clydesdales pull a tourist carriage across the tram tracks near Groenplaats.
It's probably due to media brainwashing, particularly the Superbowl Budweiser ad series but despite never having horse handling experience, I firmly believe the Clydesdale is the classiest four-legged creature in the animal kingdom. Don't ask me how a horse can have class other than refraining from kicking me in the teeth. Regardless, they certainly do look handsome in their unshorn bell-bottom leggings.

This set of photos was taken in incredible haste, struggling with two bags full of perishable items during my return-trip from the supermarket. I figured it was a rare shot so I unholstered my dSLR and chased the carriage down while maintaining what little grip I had on my shopping bags and dignity. Tourists craned their heads to see the subject of my photos, only to turn away uninterested. It turns out, this horse and carriage ensemble is seen almost-hourly performing a circuit around the tightly packed tourist sights in the center of historic Antwerp.
