User-controlled panorama, midway, down chaotic Khao San Road, the de-facto headquarters of Thai tourism.
Love it or hate it, nearly every tourist in Bangkok comes through the traveler ghetto of Khao San Road. Many mid-range accommodations have nudged out some of the cheap budget haunts that I remember from my first time around. But never fear, the more thrifty accommodations are just around the periphery of Khao San Road itself. Around the corner, my trusty old guest house surprisingly remains only 160 baht/night (~US$5.30).
