A stunning Dutch tourist helps bathe an elephant at Chitwan National Park (ARCHIVED PHOTO on the weekends - originally photographed 2007/12/04).

... and if you can take your eyes off the lady in red for a few seconds, notice the whimsical way the elephant uses its trunk like a snorkel. Now, you may recommence staring. Needless to say, all the village males (including tourists) found their way to the river bank this morning to watch this particular elephant bath.

I saw people doing it there and it looked like lots of fun. Did you swim with the elephants yourself?

I was there in winter and being an immense coward with regards to cold temperatures, I unfortunately didn't get to bathe with the elephants myself. Add to that the 3 crocodiles I spotted so there was no way I was getting in that water.
