A unique angle of the Taj Mahal and its reflection at sunrise. (From the archives due to time restraints.)

On the raised platform, directly to the left of this photo, is the classic postcard picture-copyingtaking spot. Only the brave enter the fray when the crowds are dense and it's highly recommended that you "elbow first, ask questions later." Or similarly, you can take note of how many foreign nationals can violently shove you out of the way in order to pose in front of the Taj pretending to hold the tip of its onion dome.

As a result, I took the low-road and tried something "off the beating path". I'm thinking there's a reason why my current position isn't particularly photographed much. Or perhaps I just didn't hit the composition correctly because of my haste to run around the Taj while the coast was still clear and the elbowing was limited to the center marble platform. Anyway, I was going for something a little different and even nearly ended up in the murky drink for my efforts. Good thing too because my guess is, that fountain water predates the Mughal emperors.
