A young Brahman poses for a strobed photo near the Badami archeological museum. This boy Brahman was soon to perform pooja (prayers) for the festival of Shivaratri.

Strobe setup: Shot using Pocketwizards through a translucent umbrella placed 1.5 meters to camera right at 1/4 power with 1/4 CTO gel. Ambient underexposed 2 2/3 stops.

Stilt Fishing Photo: Unique to Sri Lanka, fishermen wade through the water and onto their stilts to fish the shallow waters. The prized stilt positions are passed from generation to generation along with the skills needed to pull fish out efficiently from the ocean. Sadly, I was told by one of the fishermen that many of the older generation fishermen perished during the tsunami of 2004.

The Night Admiral Photo: Same place as yesterday but much later. I embed all my photos with original EXIF information so were you curious what time this photo was taken, take a look (Firefox add-on Exif Viewer recommended). Except for this country, I forgot to adjust to local time. The camera's still on India time so add 3.5 hours which puts this picture around the 10pm area.
